OUR MISSION

Comfort in Crisis is a faith based non-profit organization that reaches out to family members who have a loved one in critical condition at a Rochester area hospital. In emergencies, family members often rush to the hospital and stay there around the clock for days or even weeks without basic necessities. The focus is on their seriously ill or injured loved one, but they are often facing the greatest crisis of their life as well.

Through Social Workers and Waiting Room visits, Comfort in Crisis volunteers distribute “Gifts of Hope” bags filled with an informative Caregiver’s Guide, numerous personal care items, and either a stuffed animal or handmade pillow. Our gift helps to meet practical needs, but equally important in times of personal crisis, it helps to meet personal and spiritual needs by communicating the message that someone cares and that God cares as well. Social Workers constantly relate how deeply meaningful our unexpected gifts are to families in their moment of crisis.
